# Research plan: Evidence mapped fracture recovery
The Reknit Lab is launching a computational and agent supported programme to map the state of the art in fracture healing and functional recovery, beginning with radial head fractures as the initial model.
## Research questions
Across orthopaedics, mechanobiology, pharmacology, rehabilitation science, nutrition, local therapies and medical devices, the Lab will assess which interventions may:
shorten time to bone union;
improve the quality and strength of healed bone; and
restore full range of motion, especially extension and forearm rotation, where stiffness is a common long term deficit.
## Evidence framework
Human clinical evidence will be evaluated separately from animal and preclinical findings. Rehabilitation protocols, drugs and nutritional agents, topical or local therapies, and devices such as pulsed electromagnetic field therapy and low intensity pulsed ultrasound will be graded by:
evidence level;
effect size;
safety; and
actionability: **actionable now**, **promising** or **unsupported**.

A confidence graded interventions matrix
An evidence based rehabilitation timeline with decision points
A prioritised list of research gaps
The Lab will also identify open questions and testable combinations where outcomes might exceed pre injury baseline, including optimally timed mechanical loading, targeted nutrition and structured progressive strengthening after union.
